Chris and Richard first met thousands of miles part online; Chris in Portland, OR and Richard in Dallas, TX. For all the communications, emails and phone conversations made in those first few months, it wasn’t until Chris took a much needed vacation from his hometown’s sunshine-free winter in January 2003 that they finally met face to face. And that was all it took.
It was a year ago in August when Richard asked “the question.” Unbeknownst to Chris, this was something Richard had considered for some time—at least long enough to tell his friends and Richard’s parents of his intentions. Richard and their close friend Julie picked out the engagement ring, planned the dinner under the guise of celebrating Julie’s new job. The ruse paid off, and Chris happily said yes!
After five years of being together, Chris and Richard are having a wedding as a commitment to each other and as a testimony to their closest friends and family.
The wedding ceremony takes place Sunday, September 20 at 2pm, followed by reception with cake and hors d’œuvre until 4pm.
Keeping with in their style, the wedding will be an informal dress affair.
The grooms themselves will not be wearing jackets so their recommendation is Sunday casual attire.
